Hilarious moments are mixed with touching emotion and the story is very well balanced. She finished it in and it was published by Penguin books in May There are no discussion topics on this book yet. This book makes me happy. thirtynothing — All About Romance

You might find yourself feeling unexpectedly jealous and you might do something really childish like phoning your first love and asking him out, just to get your own back. Other than that and some oversimplified secondary characters, the overall story was cute. Nadine and Dig have not had any serious long-term relationships recently; it seems as if they both deliberately choose to be with lots of unsuitable people.

In discussion they make a bet that they will both start looking for real relationships and the first one who succeeds wins.

Her writing makes sense and is totally relatable whilst still offering some escapism and a world to really get lost in. The dialogue actually sounds like authentic spoken language although sometimes the characters do tend to make too-long speeches and there are some memorable lines.

However I have enjoyed Lisa Jewel in the past turns out this was an jeewll one. All of a sudden the former best friends quite agree on anything especially when Nadeen decides to meet up with her former love, Phil, an extremely suitable character.

A buoyant novel about friendship, tihrtynothing, growing up, and growing older, thirtynothing is sure to delight fans of Ralph’s Party and to win this hip, thirtysomething author a wealth of new readers.

There are some strange thirtynotging lines with exes but other than that its a good read. Upon reflection as I write this it has also given me a sense hope.

I nearly didn’t finish this, it took so very long to get to the point, and was oh so predictable. They are both so immensely likeable and because of this you feel that you want to be on their sides and see them get it together.

Jewell tells the story via a male protagonist ‘Dig’, his relationship with childhood friend Nadine, as it maps their journey from playground to the approaching big There were a couple of painful scenes that I found either difficult to take or found myself deeply cringing as I read them. He has his life a little more sorted but it still hung up on a fantasy from hsi younger years that he doesn’t seem to realise will never come to fruition. And Deen who understood Phil was not anywhere near right for her did not dare to say anything.

From inside the book. I also have two step children aged twenty one and seventeen so family life is never dull. This book I found at the lake I really like the characters but more could have been done.
