Joe writes like he’s sitting across the table from you at the pub, and of course, he takes some incredible photographs.

In an improvement over his first book, Joe actually spends some time talking about the gear that he uses — complete with pictures. It’s a glimpse of what’s possible when you throw away the possibility of mediocrity. To see what your friends thought of this book, please sign up.

Using Nikon Speedlights, Joe lets you in on his uncensored thought process–often funny, sometimes serious, always fascinating–to demonstrate how he makes his pictures with these small flashes. Also a note about technology: It’s all about an awareness of light and colour, and how to be creative.

I love this place to visit. Thanks for telling us about the problem. Hey Joe, great post! And more diagrams, I found the sketches he posted in some chapters way more clear than long winded descriptions of where the flashes were. So much gelling of flashes to give the look of the sun, but it doesn’t look like the sun Really liked the book.
