Also probably not too many science fiction books written by Christian ancient-language scholars that feature flawed Christians with Christian concerns acting as flawed Christians do it would be neat to see more serious Christians in sci-fi.

Jul 25, Kerry Nietz rated it really liked it. He is met by two men who threaten him and take him away from his regular and unexciting life in Philadelphia because “his country needs him”. Heiser is a highly educated scholar of ancient languages who uses his scriptural and theological knowledge to craft a very addictive book that encompasses a number of very interesting facxde.
I am uncertain as to whether or not he was trying to make a statement with this endeavor into fiction.

It was such a positively strange experience to read a novel using Biblical concepts that are really only explored in the Churches of God and Messianic communities. So an interesting and fun read I highly recommend The Facade to my readers. There are no discussion topics on this book yet.
The eschatological concepts Dr. Heiser, like Brown before him, seems to want the reader to grant credence to his story greater than what the actual facts ought to warrant.
