After 14 years, he has come to take Atrus to the fabled city of his heritage,D’ni. Oct 13, Ryan Hopkins rated it really liked it.

I really liked the premise of the plot – that you can create real worlds by the stories you write. And one of the reasons I love the whole premise behind “Myst” is the idea that the fantasy bit–the books that link to different worlds–are created through thoughtful analysis and an understanding of nature. The story is a small epic, yes, libri small epic.

Eventually she would bear his two sons Sirrus and Akenar, so as you can tell, I knew Atrus would succeed even during e, this, so I don’t feel I am giving anything away.

However, I was rather disappointed with the last book. Anyone who enjoyed Myst, livro should read this anthology! At one time Atrus lived with his grandmother, Ana, in a desert region. However, one thing would change Atrus’ life forever when he got to Riven, he met Catherine there. He convinced Veovis that there society was crumbling and they had to do something about it.

The Myst Reader: Three Books in One Volume

I can’t even remember the storyline of Riven The books focus more on the story of how everything came to be, as the games were about the after math. That one provides much of the back story on D’ni culture and setting up their world. Refresh and try again.

I would like to give it 5 stars, because I support all things Myst and I have been obsessed with the world of Myst since the first time I sat down to play it.

While he tries to understand his father and learn what he teaches, what he teaches is evil and soulless. Ell read this book as a kid and went back to see how it held up. When Atrus is a teenager, his father, Gehn, returns and whisks him off to D’ni to begin to learn to Write, an ancient process by which the D’ni people discovered they could link to all manner of other worlds.

The Myst Reader: Three Books in One Volume by Rand Miller

More than once I found myself comparing events in this tale to contemporary headlines, political and social sagas playing out all around me even as I read. So when Gehn was old enough he returned to the world of D’ni in search of its secrets, to see if he could find it and possibly rebuild it.

Some of the flaws of this book as I have noticed is that at some of the more suspenseful moments they seemed to go by very fast and often left me wanting more detail at that part.

Still, I would recommend it. May 08, Mailis Viiand rated it it was amazing Shelves: It was sometime around the same time as I’ve played Exile, which came outbut which I played a bit later, sometime during my first year ek college, I think.

I love the world of Myst and so was determined to get through the book. I don’t think many people would pick up Myst if they didn’t already enjoy reading books to find out what new worlds they would be brought to. Atrue 27, Rebecca rated it it was amazing. But I never played a single minute of the game.

The stories in these books themselves revolve around the D’ni civilization. More than anything else this book is a character study of the early years of the most important character of the Myst series of games, Atrus.

Refresh and try again.

The book is essentially about Atrus–about what it means to grow up, to be a man, and to dw a responsible and good person. You will not regret it.

The Book of Atrus

I found Anna and I bought this book because I enjoyed the Myst computer game and thought it might be fun to read more about the world. The language, the alphabet even the day cycle. Putting this one down for now, will probably get back to reading the others some day. Its lore, its wonder and the shear, mind bending thought of how someone thought of this in the first place.
